Sister's Salon: More Than Just Dominican Hair Care

Walking into the Sisters Salon, you immediately feel at home. The bachata playing in the background at just the right level and the smell of fresh brewed cafecito are all that you need to shake off the day and relax. The kisses, hugs and gentle but elegant care are exactly what the doctor ordered. Don't let the greetings at the door fool you, these are busy ladies at the Sister's Salon.

Owned by Hilde and Noelia Flores, originally from New York City, this salon has all of the amenities of your average salon with above average service and care. When asked what sets them apart from the rest, both sisters agree, it's their great people skills and love of their craft. Having lived in the area for only a year these sisters wanted to fill a void in the Dominican salon industry in Virginia Beach area. Their range of clientele is very broad. “We get Latinas of course, but also American, and African American,” Hilde says.

The local community has embraced the Sister's Salon and share their grand opening excitement. Monique Anderson, has been a client since the salon opened. Anderson says, “I love them, they are friendly, and the prices are excellent.” Also a native New Yorker, Anderson found the Sister's Salon after a long search for Dominican hair stylists in the area. Vilma Deshaies, a local puertoriquena, has been searching for a dominican salon for 7 years. Deshaies says, “I was so happy to hear about the salon, I brought my mother. Other salons don't know how to do our hair.”
