Carlos Mencia in the Hall

By Idalia Rosa-Martinez

Don’t miss this Philosopher of Laughter, Carlos Mencia, staging his comedy at Chrysler Hall, Norfolk - November 19, 7:30 pm. He was born to bring you joy, “Everybody in the world wants one thing, the pursuit of happiness,” said Mencia as he graced Sabor Hampton Roads web magazine with an interview.

Mencia steps on stage free of rehearsed scripts and determines to jump into action from the energy of his audience. “I allow myself to be touched by the people and the locale. It’s more of a conversation,” he said.

He assures the public that whatever happens happens. “It’s all me, that’s what they’re going to get in my stand up.”

When asked some serious questions on the current happenings in the life of Hispanics in the USA, Mencia responded, “People’s hearts and minds don’t change overnight. Big mistake to think that anyone can wave a magic wand and make things happen. It’s all about allowing nature to take its course. Nonetheless, as the Irish, Italians, Germans, and Blacks became part of America so will everybody else.”

Let Mencia help you forget about your everyday pain and give him some energy Hampton Roads. And if anybody ‘s asking about the mature language in his comedy stand up routine, “People get stuck on words and forget about what is being said,” Mencia comments. “Listen to the joke instead.”

As parting advice, this man destined to make you laugh said, “Get up everyday and choose to be happy because you’re life is so much better if you do.”

Welcome to Hampton Roads Carlos Mencia.
