Dog Friendly Parks Hampton Roads

dogs.jpg
You know how your dog loves to play, play, play? Well, there are some very environmental friendly parks around us for your playful dog. In most of the parks, pets need to be on leashes but some allow them off-leash. These parks are Brambleton Dog Park, Cambridge Dog Park, Dune Street Dog Park, Red Wing Park Dog Park and Woodstock Park Dog Park. Want to find out more about these parks? Go to
www.dogfriendly.com for the directions. Once there, go to off-leash dog parks, then select Virginia, then click either Northern VA, VA Beach Area or Charlottesville and it gives you a list of parks. But you have to scroll down some.

Mount Trashmore is a very nice place to go with your dog. All you do is follow the walking trail and you’re done. Your dog can play with the other dogs there and you can make new friends. Mount Trashmore is 60 feet high and over 800 feet long. Yes it is a mountain made out of trash. But who cares? We don’t because all we care about is our dogs and their fun. This is an on-leash park. Best part is it doesn’t even cost a thing!

Some on-leash parks are First Landing State Park, False Cape State Park, Back Bay Wildlife Refuge and Dismal Swamp Canal Trail. I recommend False Cape State Park because you can go through the Back Bay Wildlife Refuge and then go straight into False Cape. But you can’t drive into or onto it, so you’ll have to use the “Terra Gator”. It is a type of transporter that goes from Back Bay to false Cape. Whatever your style is there is a dog park out there to keep you and your doggy moving.
