Citizenship DayCitizenship Day Attorney and Site Coordinator Radlyn Mendoza welcomed many to the naturalization process of citizenship April 18, 2009 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Virginia Beach. Eighteen volunteers, among them local Immigration lawyers, paralegals, and translators, donated their time to assist all who came in needing to complete the 17-page application. Lots of free information was distributed and made possible by local services including the United States Citizen and Immigration Services (USCIS). “Citizenship Day is a way I give back to the community,” said Attorney Mendoza. An immigration specialist herself she has sponsored the day for several years. As a native Pilipino, Attorney Mendoza feels she owes Citizenship Day to the community who has trusted her to represent them legally for over ten years.
