Should the children of undocumented immigrants in Virginia be able to attend state colleges and universities? Should they pay out of state tuition?
While the response to this question will be a mixed bag here's what La Voz has to say:
Take into consideration the need for high-skilled workers, the economical liability of a citizen without a higher level of education, more jobs = more taxes for the government and a better financial status for the economy and the individual. Education allows us the freedoms of a better lifestyle, medical care, and opportunities to be a first rate citizen. How can we deny someone these essentials.
In state tuition proves to be a tricky topic since it seems unfair to offer in-state tuition to someone without legal residency. But when applying common sense to the issue and looking at the facts that a child obeys his parents and was therefore brought here as a result of a decision made for him/her by their parents. Should they be penalized?
